User-defined vocabulary

With Sally's custom vocabulary, you can store specific terms that should be correctly recognized in your transcriptions — ideal for technical terms, proper names, or special spellings.

1. Why is it important?

Sally's AI transcription is extremely accurate, but some terms may not be optimally recognized — especially if they're rare or ambiguous. With the User-defined vocabulary Can you define these terms once so that Sally correctly recognizes them in future transcriptions.

2. Examples of corrections

Here are some typical use cases for custom vocabulary:

  1. Principal → Principle (For example, if you're often discussing core ideas or theories rather than referring to a school administrator.)
  2. Desert → Dessert (Useful when transcribing culinary texts or menus where the sweet course should be spelled correctly.)
  3. Compliment → Complement (Helps ensure that praise isn’t confused with something that completes or enhances another element.)
  4. Alter → Altar (Important in religious or historical contexts to guarantee that the sacred structure is correctly rendered.)
  5. Affect → Effect (Crucial in scientific or psychological documents where the distinction between influence and result must be clear.)

3. That's how it works

With just a few clicks, you can create and maintain your own vocabulary:

1. Go to the settings.

2. Click content settings.

3. Go to the tab vocabulary.

4. Click +New.

5. Enter the desired Target vocabulary one:

Here you enter the word that you want Sally to correctly recognize in the transcription. Make sure that the spelling is exactly as you need it — including uppercase and lowercase letters or technical terminology. This is how you make sure that Sally translates the word exactly how you want it.

6. Select the desired language off.

7. Choose whether you want the vocabulary to apply to the entire company or just to you.

8. Save the words.

Finally, the following happens: As soon as you have saved your user-defined vocabulary, Sally will correctly recognize the stored terms in future transcriptions and implement them accordingly. For you, this means that repeatedly incorrectly recognized words are now reliably transcribed — regardless of whether they are technical terms, proper names or special spellings.

This allows you to make the transcription process even more efficient and precise, without having to manually intervene every time. Your personal vocabulary ensures that your transcriptions are accurate right from the start.
